Let's take a moment to raise a toast to that most radical of all American subversives, the small-town librarian.

Oh sure, the ones who ban Mark Twain are the ones who get all of the headlines. But for every one of those, there are a thousand who calmly stamp a due date on the inside cover of Tropic of Cancer and pass it back to the nervous 9th grader on the other side of the desk and, with a reassuring smile and a twinkle in their eye, say "This is a really good book."
